“Iron Spell es una banda chilena de heavy metal con sonido y gráfica inspirada en los años 80, que alcanzó inmediata repercusión en el extranjero al lanzar su demo «Heavy Metal Witchcraft» en 2014. El cual fue lanzado en formato vinilo, cd y casette en Europa, a semanas de haberse subido a las redes.”

“From the Grave could be one of the strongest traditional heavy metal albums of the year – its diverse abilities to be speedy, melodic, rockin’, and memorable pushing Iron Spell into a band that many will champion hopefully for years to come.”

“Traditional heavy metal comes from all areas of the globe these days. Chilean quintet Iron Spell started in 2013 by drummer/composer Steelhammer – making their live debut a year later while lineup changes took shape. Their debut album Electric Conjuring hit the streets in 2016, and in the nine years awaiting the proper follow-up there have been compilation EP releases to fill that void as anticipation builds for From the Grave. This is another case of being well worth the wait, as those who love dazzling displays of twin guitar action all across the melodic hard rock to speed realms with a penchant for classic 70s/80s bands will be whirling these ten tracks relentlessly. A spider web labyrinth of riffs, harmony-laden activities, and fiery breaks throughout that take on early NWOBHM influences like Iron Maiden and launch the platform to that White Wizzard / Enforcer level of energetic excitement. One exposure to “Devil King” or the semi-speedy opener “Curse of the Ushers” will have metalheads grinning ear to ear – you can see the syncopation plus thoroughness in exotic circular nuances elevating the hooks to superior crème de la crème platforms. At other times the musical components reach back into Ozzy Osbourne or early King Diamond influences – the larger-than-life chorus harmonies within “Release From Darkness” carrying things to a future setlist, devils horns approval moment thanks to the voice of Merciless. He possesses that higher register explosiveness beyond natural metal to the bones mid-range chops that will put him in that Halford, Tate, and Dickinson class.”

“When I was trying to find out a s much as I can about IRON SPELL I came across a lot of reviews for "From the Grave", and they had quite the range, but all on the positive side of the spectrum. Everybody is in agreement that what they bring to the turntable is deemed from rather good up and until splendid. What that did for me is make me extra apprehensive about listening and reviewing "From the Grave", as I do wish to do the album as well as the band justice. What does become quite clear from the get go is that we are dealing with a group of very talented and experienced musicians. The NWOTHM kind of Heavy Metal Music that IRON SPELL plays has that kind of flow and feel that makes it easy to listen to. plus, if you have a guitar player that can play a solo like Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker and Yngwie Malmsteen gelled into one, you know you have gold in your hands. The songs on "From the Grave" themselves are all very pleasant, have that ability get you tapping your foot, nodding your head, but also have the diversity and differences plus the breaks that make them all sound just that different from the other ones, while maintain the cohesion in sound that will make you realise that yes, you still are listening to the same IRON SPELL throughout the whole album. And all of them have enough quality to lift the whole listening experience above an average one. In this day and age, you doing something right if you succeed in that field. My conclusion therefore must be that IRON SPELL have made a very pleasant album with "From the Grave".”
