MANIFESTO

Nobody got into this to chase emails.

I'm Juan Cortázar. I promote electronic music events with Groove Grill in Madrid, and I DJ and produce.

Last year I booked an artist for a night in Barcelona. From the first email to the last one, it took 169 days and around sixty emails.

Agreeing the fee took ten of them. The other fifty were paperwork: contract details, invoices, a proof of payment, and eight emails about a window seat in row 17.

I wasn't the hero of that thread. I was the promoter the agent had to chase — five times for one payment receipt. Not because I didn't care, but because there was no process. Just a thread that kept getting longer, and people on both sides trying to remember what had already been sent.

Agents are not admins. Promoters are not bad payers. Artists are not travel desks. We all ended up doing those jobs because the tools stopped at "send me your presskit".

So I built MERITO. One live roster. Offers that arrive complete. One checklist per booking, so everyone can see what is missing without asking.

It will not book the flights. It will not sign the contract. It makes sure nobody has to ask twice.

The paperwork was never the point. The night is.
